For some reason my BG2 game crashes to my desktop intermittently. I have ToB installed but am still playing SoA. Just started actually.
I have the newest updates for my video card and all. Any suggestions? Should I have my monitor set to 800x600 and 16 bits like the game is set? |

That's always a good idea when troubleshooting. Try it in the supported res and play for a day and see if it does it. Do you get any graphical glitches before the crash? And does it reset your windows refresh rate?

Do you have anything else on while playing the game? Are you fully patched (game-wise)?

No glitches or anything. I'm not sure where to look to see what the refresh rate is. I'll try setting everything to 800x600 and 16bit after work.
I installed ToB and that said that it will patch SoA so I'm assuming I'm fully patched. I even patched ToB so that's good too. [ 02-23-2004, 02:57 PM: Message edited by: NewbietoRPGs ] |

Later on, when I installed a DSL line in my house, I noticed that BG2 crashed again. Turns out I need to disable the DSL connection to run the game without fear of a crash. So you may want to check that aspect as well. Good luck. |

Well, I reinstalled SoA without any patches and so far its been working fine....I then downloaded the SoA patch off of the interplay site and couldn't install it. Says an Installation file could not be installed. Catastrophic failure. Is the patch corrupted or something?
Has anyone else seen this by chance? |

Nope, haven't seen that particular crash/bug. Try to download it from a mirror site, or otherwise try to download it again if you can.
