Just curious as to how many of you are taking airline trips in the near future, and how many of you are purposefully avoiding airline trips.

IMO I dont give a shit one way or the other. I think the fact that a lot of people believe every second aeroplane is going to be taken over by hostages is paranoia. I mean if I want to go somewhere on a plane I will, its no big deal for me. Let the future care for itself.

Well, I agree. As a matter of fact, I am going on an overseas flight to England in less than a week

Well, I've NEVER flown (except in a 5-minute helicopter ride). I haven't because I've never been able to afford to go anywhere or didn't have the time. Never because I was afraid.

I don't intend to BECOME afraid, either. I have plans to go to Europe in June. Unless they shut down all flight travel by then, I'll be going. Why should I fear flying any more than I fear driving nowadays? There are crazier people behind the wheels of cars and less monitoring of that than of airplanes!

I flew just after 11 Sept (it was either that or live in Italy )
I don't fly that much - I can't afford too many holidays and I never have to go anywhere for work purposes - but yes, I intend to fly again. If it is not for a while it will be because of finances/time rather than fear.

I actually love flying, and would love to get a pilots license some day. When I was younger I applied to British Airways as a trainee pilot, but was too short (I think their height rules were to exclude most women rather than any practical reason, what a cynic I am!)

I have been thinking of taking a trip and checking airline schedules. If I decide to go, I won't be too worried about the flight- no more so than usual. I get inner ear problems and hate having to switch planes. Other than that, not worried, much.
