Our "eminent" Prime Minister, along with his esteemed colleagues have come up with another way to get right up my nose. In the interests of progress and in an attempt to save money the display of Big Ben is going to be changed to a digital one.

Quite how these idiots come up with their hairbrained ideas is beyond me. The cost of running one of the world’s most famous clocks has “rocketed” to Ł800,000 pa and Tony, in his wisdom, has decided that we can save this money.

Ths sort of thing will make us the laughing stock of the world. To make matters worse they will auction off the 4 pairs of hands and the 4 clock faces to the highest bidders. It's like selling off the family silver!

Don’t you understand Blair – this is our national heritage you are mucking about with. It’s not yours to ruin! People come from all over the world to see this sort of thing. They come to London because we ARE behind the times. It isn’t progress!!!!!

::Looks the post over with a critical eye::
I think Phillip had the right idea, yes.
Though a spirited attempt, dear Donut.
