yar that's true, when i converted my rogue into a bard (weird conversion huh...), i saw the "fiendcraft" school come up and thought that he can FINALLY learn fiend spells. well, whaddaya know, he couldnt even learn a single fiend spell! (maybe a few when i leveled my fiendcraft to twice as high...)

Clear the frontpage!!!!

There has been an interesting new development: Yesterday evening I was running around Anephas's Shrine doing the scorpion trick to gain experience points. In connection with that my bard gained his twentieth level, and here comes the interesting part: When my character gained the role of bard he achieved the fiend spell of enfeeble. From then on I could not gain anymore fiend spells and had to settle for moon spells. When he achieved his nineteenth level he acquired the last moon spell he needed. But now that no more moon spells were eligible to him he had the option of learning another first level fiend spell, namely bloodlust. My bard has level three fiendcraft, but still only first level spells become available... Most confusing...

I will try to gain another level with my bard later this evening, and I will keep you posted.

With Fiendcraft 3, the bard can learn only level 1 fiend spells because Fiend Magic isn't bard's natural magic school. You will need Fiendcraft 4 for level 2 spells, Fiendcraft 6 for level 3 spells, Fiendcraft 8 for level 4 spells and so on.

Oh! I did not know that. Does that mean that my bard can never learn level 7 fiend spells unless changing his role?

Correct. Either that, or spending enough time as a zenmaster to gain the enlightenment trait, which allows you to train a skill up to level 14, at which point you can learn level seven spells, but at which point as a zenmaster you could learn them all anyway.

Sheeesh! So the answer is yes, you're right.

All magic schools in W&W contain important spells. You cannot ask which school is better

Spirit - how else do you want to heal yourself?
Vine - among others Cure, Cure Poison or Breath of Air, ...
Moon - needed for teleportation
Fiend - Artifact of Fiends at least
Stone - many importat spells: Merlin's Shield, Artifact of Stone, Meteorstorm, ...
Fire - you'll be blind in the nights without it, Firestorm, ...

I agree with Radek. The different scools of magic are very well balanced in this game. And to you, Bungleau: Thank you again!
