Why is it that all professional offices shop at the Uncomfortable Waiting Room Furniture store? Then the creeps make you wait 15 minutes after your appointment time.

Well, I haven't worked in a law office in years that had uncomfortable waiting room furniture. In fact, everytime I have liked the furniture in one of my offices and sought to price it for myself, I got incredible sticker shock. (e.g. $4500 for a simple leather chair!!!)

As for being 15 minutes late all the time, this is a fair gripe. I wish lawyers were better about this, but we're not.

I agree I went to the dentist last week. And had to wait for more then 20 min. It is hard enough for me to go. Then to sit there and to listen to the drill. And in a bad chair. That is just not right.

Hay wait that needs to go into the greatest fear topic.

My wife gets frustrated with me when I get mad about professionals running late. I've been known to get up and let them know that if I am not seen within a certain amount of time, we will have to reschedule because I don't have time to wait.

Perhaps I'm being rude to the doctor or whoever. But they're providing a service to me, not the other way around. I'm the customer, and I will go elsewhere if I feel the need.

One doctor, however, messed up my game. They were running late, and I told them that I needed to be seen in five minutes or I was gone. They got me in within the five minutes, and when the doctor came in, he apologized for being late and waived the office visit fees because of it.

Not a great deal of money, all thing considered, but a very significant gesture. One worthy of emulation for all professionals.

Myself included. I do similar things for my customers when I run behind or have other issues.

Actually, with what I was getting done, I didn't want any extra attention...

Only needed snips in one spot, thank you very much.

Speaking of the snip. I am going to be looking at it in about 6 months. And I agree no extras.

What was it like alot of pain?

Most painful thing was the shot of local anaesthetic. They've got to get it in the right spot for it to work...

The doc basically made one small hole in which he maneuvered and performed both snips. Less recovery time that way. No real pain at all, although for a brief moment or two, my favorite testicle (at least at that moment) was somehow getting pressure from something. I don't know what, because I wasn't really paying that close of attention.

He recognized my discomfort, shifted something, and it went away. No real issues at all.

The strangest thing was when he brought in the burner... the nurse who specializes in cauterizing the vas deferens. No pain at all, but the sight of smoke drifting up from down there... well, let's just say it was disconcerting

A couple of days with a bag of frozen peas, and life was good again No real pain at all.

Some folks do have different experiences, and I came across a humorous story about one guy's experience. You may not want to read it until afterwards, though... if I can find it, I'll post it.

What you actually need is an ice pack that will shift around to provide cold comfort all around that area... frozen peas, corn, or similar things are perfect for that
