Vindson

Vindson, while listening to Milanthir speek idly, glanced towards his smithy and spotted the day's hero, and one of the town's guards in front of it. He politely waited for Milanthir to finish, then excusing himself made his way to the smithy.

Getting there he warmly shook hands with the guard, who seemed to be an acquaintance of his, and then extended his hand to Sever.

"Is it me you were looking for?"

Pandaros

Pandaros watched the group converse while he idly kicked at a piece of rubble. When the guard ran in shouting about the jailbreak Pandaros rolled his eyes and laughed quietly to himself.

"This town is turning itself upside down... not a good place to hang around anymore."

He turned and started to walk away when he noticed one of the members of the group wandering off on his own. Judging by his strange looking cloak and elven features, Pandaros guessed he was also a stranger in this town. The wiry human turned his steps towards the stranger, intending to catch up with him. As he approached, he raised his hand in greeting.

"Greetings stranger. My name is Pandaros. Do you have a moment to discuss the strange occurences in this town?"

Sever took the large smith's hand and shook it once in a friendly gesture.

"You must be Vindson - the veteran hero. I've already heard a little from your friend here. Sever motioned towards his guard escort. I must say, i am keen to hear the story told by the person who lived it - whenever it's convenient of course.

"But for the moment, i am need of a few repairs to my armour and perhaps a new blade. When i heard it was on the Lockes', well, i couldn't resist bumping it up on my things to do list."

Vallo

Vallo let out a long, drawn out sigh.

"I haven't got time for this!" He said, his voice raised.

The guards had stopped his only exit from this hell of a town.

"Well," He thought, "The only exit for weaker people."

Grinning evily, he began to cast a simple spell. Muttering under his breath, he felt a change in his body. The world around him started to increase in size, bigger and bigger.

"It worked!" He cheered loudly (although unhearable by un-shrinked people).

He walked towards the gate, his face with a huge smile. People had noticed his magic, his successful magic. No more Vallo the Incompetent, Vallo the Foolish, but Vallo the Arch-Mage, weilder of magic.

Darkness.
The sun was blocked out, shade surrounded him. He looked up, then saw it.

"In the name of-" He started, before being crushed to death under the foot of some commoner.

And thus the great saga of Vallo ends.

OOC: Loved playing with you guys, but I just wasn't having much fun with Vallo. He didn't really fit in *grins* I'll keep an eye on this game though, but as a reader, not a player.

Kasimno

"Well the diversion worked," Kasimno said wondering what to do Should I try to catch that guy, help the guard? Yeah, why not, maybe I'll even get a little something in return if I find him. With that decided , he figured he might as well go and ask one of the guards to see if they got a description of the man who escaped and approached the men standing at the gate."Have you got a description of the man who escaped earlier?"

For Kasimno:

Kasimno had been in the conversation with Vindson, Oley, Mr. Locke, and the newcomer to town...an elf. When people began to disperse to their own paths, Kasimno had walked South until he reached the south-gate where stood the guard for that gate. He asked them if they had been given a description of the man who was apparently still on the loose for the crime that had been committed.

Now, the town guard did not make it a habit to just ramble on about their duties to the common folk of town, but everybody knew Kasimno in Lockesville. Not only had he grown up around here, but they knew that he did odd jobs with Vindson from time to time. Therefore, Kasimno was no ordinary town citizen. He had potential, if Vindson accepted him to hang around.

"Nope. We haven't a clue who the guy is, nor if he's still in town. But he's not the only problem we have. We had a jailbreak. Somebody got out that should not have ever seen the light of day again. But keep it to yourself, eh? We don't want the folks around here to be all in a panic, eh? We've got men looking all over for those two. I am betting that they're together. Find one, you've got the other. Simple that is, and this town's not that big."

Vindson

Vindson smiled at Sever, and putting a hand on his shoulder led him into the store.

"Tell you what: anything you might want is on the house today." - he said grinning. The Lockes weren't the only ones who could be generous in town, after such a heroic act. And besides they already owed Vindson a much greater sum than what Sever could have wanted. "Within reason of course." - he added with a wink.

"If you just slip out of that armour I can have a look at it right now, while you choose yourself a blade from the rack along the wall to the left of you." - Vindson indicated the row of swords next to the wall.

"There's no need to slip out of it. The armour i'm wearing is in no need of repair. It's just this lot -" Sever handed a ruksack containing his leather cuirass and gloves to Vindson - "That needs a bit of fixing."

Sever let the smith appraise the armour whilst he cast his eye on the row of weapons along the wall. All seemed to be of high quality steel of expert make. Few smithies had he been where craftmanship of such skill were being practiced. (Never was Sever ever permitted to be in those places - such was the rank of the respective smiths' lords.) He looked again upon Vindson with a new respect in his eyes.

Sever continued to search out a weapon that suited his needs. The swords and axes and spears were all perfect for any purpose a warrior might desire, but Sever was no warrior. In his profession, small blades were the melee weapon of choice. And the type he was seeking could not be found on the shelf. He turned to Vindson again.

"These are all as fine as any weapon i've laid eyes on, Master Smith. But the weapon i'm looking for doesn't appear to be on the shelf."

Sever removed his shortsword from its sheath. Of Eastern influence if not make, the slightly curved blade had been his weapon for many years. No etchings or ornate markings were visible - it being a simple blade for practical purposes only. Never had it been a ceremonial piece the likes of which Sever had sometimes repossessed.

"I quite like my blade. It's been mine for many years and it has served me well. In fact, i wouldn't be parting with it at all if not for the fact that i need something a bit.. More."

Sever handed the weapon to Vindson.

"I don't suppose you have a shortsword of similar style finished in silver?"

Milanthir, the Elven Mage

----

This temple certainately isn't as regal as those I've seen to Corellon, but it does have... Charm, as though its quaint decorations serve more of a purpose than ours might simply by their ephemerality. I shall have to ask about that.

----

Milanthir finds his way into the temple, keeping both eyes carefully open for anyone trying to look inconspicuous - or who looks burned in any way by the fire - especially if they have shorter hair.

----

Someone planning arson wouldn't keep their hair long... especially if they'd ever done it before.

Vindson

While Sever surveyed the swords, Vindson took a closer look at the armour he had been handed.

"For the gloves it would be easier if I simply gave you new ones, the cuirass I can repair. It would be ready for tomorrow."

Vindson took the strange shaped sword from Sever and looked over it. This was not the first time he saw such a sword, but it was the first time he got the chance to have a closer look at one. He had heard of swords like this one used in faraway lands. He hefted the blade, feeling its weight, and the way it moved. He understood why some would prefer these types of blades, but he himself preferred the conventional style.

"I have never before made such a blade, and I'm not sure I have the know-how to make one, but if you gave me a hand I could try."

Vindson remembered then that he had promised Pandaros the arrowheads for today also. He would have to make them soon.
