While I completely agree that the game might have been a bit better in pointing you in general directions I have my own sort of logic which seems to work.

I look at the map. Having learned from the "Valeia area" that the game seems to divide the territory into "smaller bits" which is easily confirmed in the Ishad N'Ha area, looking at the map tells me that the most likely "exit" to the next town would be the Dragon Spire - so I do everything else first.

Also, when I come across something that stops my progress, I look to see what I haven't done on the presumption that the solution will be found there.

This strategy works very well for me. This also allows some flexibility in the story line so that everything isn't too linear.

I quite agree with Wyvern. The storyline is nicely constructed. I rather like it when solutions to problems like circumventing the bronze beast suddenly present themselves like in the form of the stout king's dream.

Hmmm well I don't have the vanish spell yet so it's back to stout mines

I just hope it isn't a bug I ran into.

That endless corridor thing is quite annoying.

I actually disagree. My rule of thumb is if I can't get past something explore elsewhere, do other things. If you do this you will come across solutions to problems that your trying to solve. If the game laid out how to get past every single quest it would be just too easy. One of the fun things about games like this is you have to explore and try different things to get anywhere. At least for me it is. Look at notes, read the descriptions for items, listen to what NPC's are saying, it usually all comes together in the end.

you need stout mine armor (dragon armor from dragon ore quest) to get past the beast unless you have max fire resist already (not likely) and yes Elizabette never acnolages you delivered the letter
