OH and Stormmystic that poetry contest that you tryed to win has been posted as a major Virus carrier and is now under investigation by the F.B.I. for fraud.

Oh yeah one more thing Stormy --- BANG BANG consider yourself shot
I was afraid of that. Some of the biggest frauds out there play on people's ego and their wish to be artists or writers or poets etc. I've seen stories of places that tell you your art or story is great and you've won a prize and somehow you keep ending up paying for lessons or dues to the 'clubs' or special conferences etc. In the end you get taken to the cleaners by the people who supposedly offered you a prize! Many, like this one, seem to be virus warehouses too.

I hope you gets your system restored and back to normal soon, SM! Computer problems are always annoying but viruses and hacks are the worst!

Mystic, its sad but true: you can't trust internet contests. There are just too many scams about. In the old days, if you filled out the Publisher's Clearing House entry form & mailed it back, the worst you got was junk mail. With the price of computers today vs the odds of winning anything (let alone non-junk)its just not worth it. Sorry...

Just wondering where you came across this "browser toolbar"? Not asking for any exact adresses, but it'd help to know if you got it from the c|net network - ie, download.com, shareware.com, freeware.com, etc etc - or from some dark and shady underground corner of the Net?

I generally consider c|net to be a safe source of share and freewares, I'd hate to be proven otherwise now.

Some info on marketscore:

http://doxdesk.com/parasite/MarketScore.html

http://www.security.kolla.de/index.p...ts-marketscore

Personaly Ive never had any problems with something from c|net or download.com, but any program can contain spyware/trojans and there is always the possibility of malware getting onto any site. Moral : scan *everything* you download, reputatable site or no.

It pains me too, but I guess I have 2 choices, 1 keep trying and hoping my poetry will get accepted, or 2 give up and quit writing, the first is more what i am apt to do, but if I keep ending up the fool I might give up
