Mindflayers !!!! Grrr!!!

I am freakin mad of those freakin mindflayers in the freakin underdark. I cast magics on them and thier magic resistant and they do this move that kills ya instantly. Wat should i do?

Summon skeletons and elementals to attack them, they are immune to brain draining and can hurt Mind Flayers even though they have Magic Resistance.

You can cast chaotic commands to be immune to the psionics but that doesn't stop them from devouring your brain. Try to lure them in traps. Set traps near a door in those narrow corridors and lure the mind flayers with a hasted character (either by boots of speed or the spell). But I agree that they are the most annoying creatures in the game.

The Skald (bard kit) can actually play his song and make ur guys resistant to the mind flayer hold. At higher levels of course.

I used the editor and created an ultimate mage. But i did something stupid, I dont have a party coz i killed them all and im all alone in the dungeon. So i cant cast chaotic commands on my char but maybe the summoning trick will work so thx for the advice

I had the same problem, but someone advised me to use undead against them and stock up on Potions of Genius. It really makes things easier.

The best way is to summon Invicible Stalkers or, even better, Mordikaidens Sword. They are Imune to Intelligence-drain.

One spell that will save your butt is invisiblity and wands..
Cast improved invisiblity, walk in.. layer the place wwith cloudkills using the wand of cloudkill then walk out and shut the door (Should work) Boots of speed help.

I agree with Synthos, only this is pretty similar. Use area of effect spells like Abi-Dalzims Horrid Wilting.

to kill a mind flayer with a cheated char - SK yourself the sword of psion +5, a two handed sword (so SK it into your hands, it might not crash), that makes you immune to all psionics. you need ToB of course. elsewise use the staff of command and cause civil war. of course larger groups cause the most problems, so use your brine potions (in the spawning room) to maximum effect. do not bother with them except on your fighters though, you only get 8 potions and they have a short duration.
