Hi Kaz! Can I have some recommendations for dinner? Or you don't do that at Cloudy's?

Well, without aspirin, all I can suggest is to try to sit for a few minutes in the dark with your eyes closed...OR...try to find a pressure point. When my temples throb, I can rub little circles on them and it will ease the pressure. If the headache is in the back of my head, I stretch my neck and shoulders and then find the nerve in my neck that is associated with the pain. Put pressure on the nerve for a few seconds to see if that makes it better. If it does, put pressure on the nerve repeatedly for about 30 seconds each time (kind of massaging it with the tip of your finger). The pressure spots are usually right at the base of your skull, mostly behind the ears.

Hope this helps.

Well I'm probably a bit late, but most headaches I believe are caused by stress, dehydration, or tense muscles in the face, neck and upper back. Stretching and massaging those muscles can help if the latter is the cause - but do it gently - especially if you are at a desk all day, you may end up sitting badly which results in tense muscles.

For stress, esp. at work, try to get away from your desk/PC/bench etc for a while - go for a walk outdoors if it is daylight or go to the park.

A headache is also one of the early signs of dehydration. Avoid coffee, carbonated drinks and alcohol, and have some cool (but not too cold) water. Proper intake of water varies from person to person, but if you feel thirsty regularly you are not getting enough. Between 1-2 litres per day is advisable!!

Another cause associated with the workplace can be bad lighting, a poor-quality monitor, bad seating arrangements etc. Overcrowding can increase stress.

Hiya! Not dead, just dozing...zzzzzzz

Noticed your post in my questions thread. 1. The whole 'name, rank, serial no.' thing was a joke that has apparently fallen flat on it's face. My Dad's military so when I asked for 'name' the rest popped into my head. I thought more people would know about how a soldier is taught to respond with name, rank & S/N when questioned by the enemy. Oh well. I tried. 2. I didn't know you were a fish! Well met, Mr. Flirtation Fish! (I'm Piscean also - Feb. 22).
