In the planar sphere should i tell my apprentices to make the Staff of Power or the RIng of WIzardry? (Or can i get the ring from another place?) Which is better to use when i'm a sorcerer? And where can i get the Staff of the Magi?

Staff of Magi is available once you kick the Twisted ruins ass.
He can be found in the bridge district but youll need a rogue stone to get into his chamber!

The Ring of Wizardry is far more useful. If you want a kickass staff, get the Staff of Magi.
You can get another Ring of Wizardry if you have Jaheira in your group. Her subquests leads to a fight with several Harpers and one of them drops the ring. PS: You do know that this will kill your apprentices right? Just checking. |

. . if they make the staff then they all die, if they make the ring - two die. i let them off making the third item but i do regret it a bit now - the ring is useful as it gives you a few extra spells. i didn't get no exp reward for letting them live but a while later one of them returned and now makes potions for me - hmmmmm, useless. it's up to you - as i am a chaotic good character it didn't seem right to do it any other way. |

Staff of the Magi is just a tad on the cheesy side for me though. It means victories wouldn't be satisying (no fun if it's not fair).
