I watched The Birds last night. I thought it was a very good film, with a great atmosphere. Although I was disappointed with the ending. It seemed to just end, without any real climax.

What do other people think?

It's been quite a while since i last saw it,but i think Hitchcock
is at his best with this movie.Don't know how he did it,but the film really got me glued to my chair til the end.I really love the scene where you see all the birds gather in the back of the screen, ready to attack the children. Can't quite remember the end,but i seem to remember it was quite sudden.Great film, anyway!

That is part of what makes that movie so suspenseful and mysterious--you never know what caused to birds to attack and you never know what caused them to stop. Could it happen again? If so, when? Where?

The birds are a metaphor, a type of natural disaster.

I watched the documentary that came with the movie, and they did actually plan to have another scene, with them trying to get away from the town and the birds chasing them, but it would have cost too much money and time.

Oh well, I guess your right, is does leave it open for imagination.

I love Hitchcock movies, and The Birds is a favorite of mine.
