Kivan was cool, but probably a bit useless in BG2.
As an aside - does anyone know how they decided what the NPCs who did make it would be like? Did most people dual-class Imoen (I never did), did most people even keep Minsc or Jaheira in the group. I seem to have this recurring conversation with people - hey, didn't I kill you? Some things are justified (like Quayle's newfound responsibility), but some of it annoys me from a storyline viewpoint (without mentioning any names). |

Although Khalid as very cool, his death was necessary for BG2. The story wouldn´t be as exciting as it would be when Khalid was still alive. I would have chosen Xzar. And Monty, of course.
