Would all my characters and items be saved/portable between each game? Thanks once again.
Yes, that's precisely the way it has to be done.

Just to let you know.

1. Once you start TotL, there is no going back until you finish it.
2. Once you reach the S** ** ****** *** area in How, there is no way you can do TotL.

The best time to do TotL is right before going to S** ** ****** *** area. (that's after finishing G*********).

EDIT:
xander beat me to it.

Is this the whole HoW and TotL expansions or is just patches for those expansions?

Jules, I beleive you only download TotLM at that link. The HOW expansion needs to purchased separately, it can be bought together with ID as one package.
Thanks to all your replies, it's been a great help.

No it's not. It may be bundled with the original IWD, but HoW is not freeware. Only TotL is.

Cheers.

Can you play TotLM without having HoW on your computer?

No, HoW needs to installed first. TotL is basically a patch for HoW that happens to add new areas.

Cheers.
