Do bows and crossbows fall onto this category?

But why Archer (kit of Ranger) cannot put 2 points in "2 handed weapon style"?
Just wondering...

I am pretty certain that bows and crossbows do NOT benefit from 2-handed weapon style. My main is a paladin with 2 points to 2-handed sword, 2 to long bow and 2 to 2-handed weapon style. If you check your stats page while wielding a 2-handed weapon like a sword, at the very bottom it will show the "style" bonuses. When wielding a bow, this style bonus is not shown. This might be a display bug, I suppose, but I don't think you get the bonus for (x)bows.

I think the bow counts as a two handed weapon, and therefor it should count, but I don't know for sure.

There are some "display bugs", like the kensai's damage for instance. You see a level 10 kensai do +6 damage (18/00 str) when it should be doing +9.

El,

I think +6 damage is correct for that strength. I have two guys with 19 str' and both get +7 damage.

Also I don't think that bows fall into the 2H category.

Charle, yes it's correct, but it should be +9 since it is a level 9 kensai...it was just an example of things that doesn't show.

Sorry el_kalkylus, I don't quite understand. I've never played/used a Kensai myself but are you saying they get additional damage scores over and above those inherently related to strength?

Yes, the kensai get bonus to damage every 3 or 4 levels (don't remember). But it doesn't show on the statistics.

I have played an Archer on a couple of occasions and haven't noticed any bonuses to putting proficiency points in the two-handed weapon style category.

I was under the impression that you could put two points in that category, but if you were like me, you probably used most of your proficiency points in one of the bow categories.

Putting points in two-handed proficiency is useful with a character who primarily uses a bow. To switch to a different two-handed weapon is very easy. Switching to a dual-wield is very problematic as is trying to equip with a shield in the middle of battle.
