Can't seem to get it to work on my Vista system. Bought the NWN disk with all the expansions included. Giving me a headache. About to Wipe Vista out and put XP on my laptop. Unless anyone has any idea's. It's not exactly the only problem I've run into with not being able to load things into Vista...

It doesn't work on some setups. Seriously? I wouldn't bother upgrading to something 8% of the world has. It's still a VERY shaky OS, has loads of flaws, doesn't work with 100,000's of programs (older games, programs). I would wait a year--there is no need to own it now anyway really.. (Besides DX10, but I have an 8800 GTX, and won't install Vista because no games are using the full potential of DX10 anyway--and won't be for a while).

Stick with XP. It's stable as hell now, runs fine, runs MORE programs and has better support. IMO, Vista is the last OS Microsoft is gonna make. They are not selling Vista at all....

Very Angry Vista vs. XP versus NeverWinter Nights

I was thinking of building a new machine by the end of this year working with Vista. I don't think it will be a true gaming machine, as there are so many statements and testimonials working AGAINST the power and the glory of Vista. I mean, that is the reason most of the people I know were thinking of getting Microsoft's Vista operating system: brand new games with brand new graphics. Considering how many of them were even planning on purchasing the operating system legally (for the first time in years for more than a few of them), the fact Vista has been such a grand disappointment has set their mindstates back quite a bit. Me, I think for now I'll stay safely with Microsoft XP.

It works fine. I made a thread a while back, might be here, might not, and the answers therein should work for you.

I think the important question is what video card are you using? The game seems to like ATI cards in favor of the newer Geforce cards. I have an 8800 gts and I had to use the drivers that came on the Nvidia CD which are 75.9 I think. I tried the newest ones and all I got was a black screen. YMMV.
