People pay a lot of money to get those put in! I used to pay a lot of money (and spent a lot of time!) getting blonde streaks! Ungrateful wench

I think you raise a good point about fake blondes Mel! They often seem to be aspiring to some blonde stereotype or another. This might be a stretch, but I think there might be a connection with the stereotype that tanned skin is 'healthy' and indicates that you're out sunbaking and having fun in the sun, while pale skin means you're a bookworm (read smart ) - since hair naturally lightens in the sun? Reaching?

ROTFL Aelia!
You may be reaching just a little, but while I'm a blonde, if I finally manage to get some colour onto my cheeks this summer it'll be the first time in years! My skin is so pale I would almost think you're right that it does have a connection to being a bookworm.
I actually do tan easily so in my case it really *was* because I spent too much time pent up inside with a nice book instead of out in the sun... must remedy that this year....
Good theory anyhow
