I found the writ, got into the stout mines, found the silvery metal, saw the king again etc, etc and was on my way out with my new armour when I got back to the gatekeeper at the front who again asked for the writ. I can't find the damn thing. I don't know whether I accidently dropped it, or gave it away, or whether it is a bug!!!!!! To tell you the truth I am not even sure that I got it back off the gatekeeper dude at the mine entrance. I need help as my last save is back at Shuregen castle before I did the boogre dungeon and several quests!!!! Any help/suggestions would be great as I don't want to do all of that again!!

Check your first three characters for an unidentified scroll. The guard gives it back in this state.
