Hey guys. I thought I'd post this here, since this game's requirements have made this something of a tech forum as well. Also, of course, Oblivion drove me to accept my machine's utter obsolescence (P4 1.6, Geforce 4 Ti 4200).
The rundown: Pentium 805D 2.66 dual core, easily overclockable to 3.6 without water cooling. Zalman CNPS 9500 CPU fan/heatsink Asus P5WDG2-WS motherboard (higher end Crossfire compatible board) 2 Gigs of GSkill DDR2 800 RAM (Room for 8 gigs) Radeon X1800 GTO 256 Seasonic 600W power supply black Thermaltake Tsunami Dream aluminum case (the one without the window) And a host of less interesting peripherals and standard compy organs. I've had Oblivion for months, figuring it'd force me to upgrade eventually. I'll probably finish putting it together tomorrow and finally join the fray with any luck. |

Congrats on the new system, mate. That should keep you gaming for a while. At least until the next big generation gap anyways. It's a conspiracy, i tell ya! Developers are in cahoots with the hardware manufacturers in a scheme to keep us perpetually broke!

A report:
I had a bit of problem with IDE this and 80-pin that, but I've got it up and running this afternoon, everything on the highest setting, and it's SWEET!! This game absolutely rocks. |

Re: My new (oblivion) PC
I've just switched over to Vista (ta, Bill!). Oblivion runs fine (so far) but I have a bit of trouble with Morrowind. My character is see-through. So are some of the NPCs. The problem is worse in indoor places. Does anyone else have this problen and know of a solution?

Re: My new (oblivion) PC
Never had a see through character issue in Morrowind on Vista.
Possibly a graphics card issue?
