Bump...

This subject sure travels down the list fast.

Ok, please just help me with a theory - be it ever so far-fetched - as to where to look and what combination of roles and races I should try. Anything would be much appreciated.

Right now I am trying all sorts of things...

That was a shame... Thank you anyway, Lionheart.

I was thinking... What happens if a character who is already a valkyrie completes the valkyie quest in Cet's pyramid when completing the game a second time? Has anyone tried it? Perhaps it might yield a trait? Perhaps the soul bane trait?

hmm.......i dun tink anyone has tried that out yet, but u're saying that the soul bane trait is supposed to come wif the valkyrie class? if that's so, then i tink u can try and then tell us wat happened, so that future generations of W&W players will know.......

I am trying every possibility in the game I can come to think of.

I recently received a very kind e-mail from alz who - unfortunately - was unable to help us in our quest since he had nothing to do with the programming of the traits. So I suppose that means back to experimenting.

I would still appreciate all sorts of crazy ideas concerning this issue. ´No matter how far-fetched they are I will submit them to the test.

The only thing that comes to my mind is that they might be traits which are available when you have extremely high guild and advancement levels. For example, enlightenment comes when you're a level 18 zenmaster or thereabouts, and probably with a certain bushi guild level required.

My thought is to finish a game with six different character classes, whatever level they get to, so you can verify whether they pick up any new traits later on.

You'd only have to run through this two or three times, once for each character class. I'm assuming there are no specialties for the four starting classes and they wouldn't have to be processed.

Thoughts?

The problem could also be that those traits were race and/or role specific and that leaves a heck of a lot of combinations.

I'm searching around on google to see what I can find about the missing traits.

This came from one board:

Some of these traits didn't make it into the game it would seem. Some folks made extensive efforts to get all of them, but could not, and I can't remember which ones they were.(I do know that enlightenment comes from being a Zenmaster and can cast 14 as opposed to 12 on items-> see above).

If I find anything else, I'll edit this post.

Thank you all for helping me with this matter.

Right now I am on my way to complete the game a second time with my party of six. As to roles I have a valkyrie, a barbarian, a ninja, a warlock, a zenmaster, and a bard. I am going to keep them all in their present roles throughout the game except for my ninja who I will have advance to assassin. As to races I have only three: Human, dwarf, and elf. But I have a feeling this is not the last time I complete the game. With the help of the scorpion pit trick I will advance them all to very high levels. We shall then see what that yields.

I still have a feeling that the soul bane trait is closely connected with the role of valkyrie.

I'd switch your zenmaster. We've seen zenmasters with astronomical levels, so there will be no hidden traits there.

Likewise, I wouldn't worry about an assassin. Many high-level assassins have been out there.
