Has anyone else noticed that this does not correctly grant the extra hit points for a kensai? It increases constitution by one point which shows correctly in the record, but does not show the extra 9 or so hit points this should grant (my kensai's constitution has risen from 19 to 20 so it's not a low constitution problem). The bonus works well on all other characters in my party, just not my kensai. Is this a bug?

Jim,

It is probably related to the fact that your Kensai already has an extraordinary CON score. IIRC, a CON of 20 does not grant you any HP bonuses above what 19 does. I believe, once again...IIRC, in 2nd edition AD&D, CON of 20 just gives you immunity to poison and maybe disease?

It has been a *looooong* time since I played PnP, but I think that's right. I really don't think it's a bug.

My kensai wears this stone.. I'll check and see if he gets the extra hps (i'm pretty sure he does). But he only has 18 CON

Thanks for your replies. Throntar, you are correct in that the move from 19 to 20 does not increase HP, 21 is the next step (checked the tables in the manual).

It does increase your system shock and res % (AD&D Rules), not that it matters here.
