I've always thought 2 things made consoles inferior... their Crappy graphics and lame controllers. Well the new gen of consoles has finally broken out of the 320x240 TV realm with HD support... so that's fixed. Now perhaps they've finally found a controller design that will provide a viable option to the flexibility of the PC (Keyboard/mouse, stick, wheel, and even a game controller if you're a glutton for punishment). It will be interesting to see if the new controller is everything this report seems to make it.

I remember when the gameboy was first released. It was *huge* back then! Since that time, they've gotten smaller, gotten color, gotten smaller again, then "Advanced", then "Advanced again", and then, finally, the DS.
quite a ride, that. |

PS3=Sony, Sony=BAAAAAD!
Xbox= poor pc Wii=sofa mayhem fun For real gaming... a PC does it. HD? Bah, I can live without it, especially for now, just check on the danged prices for Movies on both BlueRay and HD-DVD's and the poor support on normal TV is well.. nah, not worth it yet.

Nintendo is the only dedicated GAMES company still manufacturing consoles. They care about 1 thing in their product - FUN! Thats what console games are meant to be about. They aren't fetishing slight upgrades in processor speed, graphics, etc. They are innovative and original.
That picture a couple posts back is spot on. Nintendo have invented and pioneered almost every single development in console gaming. Now Sony and Microsoft have slimed in and thrown money about to dominate the market with generic games usually involving violence/nudity/crime/celebrity endorsement/film or tv spin off. AHH the cattle do love to graze...no thought required. Harsh ? Maybe. But if they kill of the pioneers who are they going to copy ? Oh no, they'll just buy them off won't they? Excellent. I do love choice in the marketplace.
