I wonder if you would get refused service and asked to leave if you ordered :

French toast, eggs, bacon and French fries

for breakfast. Maybe it would be like that mall that threw the people out for wearing the T-shirts.

My mind takes me back to a scene from the Simpsons with Quimby's son and the French (or should that be "Freedom") waiter. "It's chow-DER not chow-DAH - say it, say it, ...... I'll kill you"

I can understand where it's coming from, but this is the most pathetic, childish behaviour i've ever seen in my life.

If that can make them feel better...
What will be the next step though ? Forbidding french words ? Stop learning french language at school ?

That would take out a chunk of the language. Lots of English words are based on French ones, Ballet for example

Well, I doubt they'd forbid using French, let alone French based word, otherwise you'd have to remove one large chunk of the English language.

All the jokes ARE funny, but no one thinks French Fries are from France, etc.

It is a symbolic protest (based on an idea from a restaurant in North Carolina) and is intended to be nothing more.

In England we call it chips and toast and find these two delicacies extremely english. So why have you guys for some reason over the last 400 years suddenly decided that it was french??
I think IŽll start a foundation for keeping the chips and toast british, anobody care to join?
