Cloudy, you won't find a country in the world that's more flat than where i live, so when we want to ski, we have to go to either Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, or even Italy. And Austria is where most people from here go, usually around January/February the big caravan starts moving. I never been to Austria, but someday i will. No hurry though, skiing is great and all... but the beach is better.

Hello everyone, dont be alarmed i just remembered that i had friends on IW. With all the work i'm doing i think i'll go crazy, so much to do of my own free will
Hmm if anyone sees Willow around tell her that whacky was asking about her and little josh how are all of them, havent talked to her i quite a while, hope she has been taking care of herself G'bye my lil' sister wants me to be seated with her while she watches a horror movie, she's afraid to watch it alone, sometimes its hilarious to see her watching horror movies. Hands covering her ears simply staring on the television screen, else eyes forcefully shut yet curious enough to open once in a while Does anyone have a sibling like mine

CD... LOL That's better!

johnny, I'm with you! LOL I like snow if I'm indoors and toasty, but the beach is definitely more tempting! On the other hand, Austria DOES sound like a cool place to visit! I've never been there, but I've been in Amsterdam once, for a week a LONG time ago. It was brutally cold that year (January) and even the canals were frozen!)Didn't see enough of the whole country to know it was flat though! LOL Still, I really liked the place and would love to go back there for another visit. I didn't seen any cross country skiiers but lots of skaters were out!

My last post was meant for Whacky btw.
Cloudy, we have a few minor hills in the south, that's all. And yes, when temperature is dropping below 0, people get crazy here, and all want to go iceskating, and since we have so many water here, you have plenty of places to choose from. Especially up north, in Friesland, they're nuts about it. They're always hoping they can organize the "Elfstedentocht". It's a skating marathon, that goes through eleven towns. It's been a few years since the last one though, it never freezes long enough to have really strong ice, they usually go to Finland for an alternative marathon. The winner used to get 100.000 guilders, i don't know what that would be now, but it sure is a nice sum.

Or is it mostly downhill? I know lots of people who do both, but usually they like one much better than the other. I'm with you Attalus, I already shovel the stuff, I've no desire to land on my keyster or face down in a pile of snow! LOL
I live near an iceskating track (only during the winter, because then they flood one of the smaller fields where the sheep usually graze) and I can do alpine(downhill) skiing and I'm learning cross country skiing, but I can hardly skate at all.
Oh, for the record, I like alpine better
