How do you make a .bmp file into a .jpg or .gif file?

I don't know about other freeware software but ACDSee will have the option to export/convert you bitmaps (*.BMP) to *.JPG or *.GIF and other formats. I think you can download a trial version of ACDSee from download.com

You can open it with Microsoft Paint and then save it as a jpeg if you want. Most photo editing programs will do it.

I have it under control now.
All i had to do was re-save the file as a jpg one instead of a bmp, like Trickster said.

Hexa, in case if you didn't read the rules carefully:

Be Spam Free: Do not post the same material to multiple areas. posts like "me too" and 'no topic' posts are not allowed-- it's a waste of space. If you have a website, and would like to share it with others, that is fine, just don't post it to ALL the forums-it will be deleted. Posting an 'Advertisement' to your website, and then bumping it constantly will get that message deleted. You may also put a URL in your Signature, although we do NOT allow any type of BANNERS or other 'ads images' to be posted to your sig. Posting a message to Test your sig is fine, but you only need to use up 1 post. You can edit your 1 post as many times as you wish. there is no need to post 10 messages testing your sig. Also, once you get it fixed, Delete the test post. (You can delete your own posts). Also, Also, if you see a thread/post deleted or closed, DO NOT post a new message asking where the thread/post went or why it was closed. These types of questions can be answered by emailing your webmaster

I have noticed that you posted some post in other topics to test your sig, kidnly remove them all once you are done "testing"
