The best set to equip a paladin

Hmm i think its realy cool to set a good bow on a paladin.I know hes a meele type but i think bow+Turn unded+ spells is *Nice* What do you guys think??

Why to use bow if you have high level TU? I usually give bow to a Flank Attacker-ToB NPC-a Cavalier makes an excellent Tank.

efender Of Easthaven,Carsomyr,Bastard/Long Swords from Watcher`s Keep,Armor Of Faith,Ring Of Gaxx...

Gesen/Tasheron's bows are tasty. Though my personal favorite is Heartseeker, because for a limited time it becomes a +7 weapon, which can hit through even "Absolute Immunity". and since you can get 2, it's a must have vs. klangaxx with a non-magic, evil party.

If you are facing Imp.Kangaxx any Ranged weapons is out of the question,due to the Psyhical Mirror spell he casts. [img]smile.gif[/img]

nope, either wait it out, or shoot a couple +7 arrows and equip shield of reflection, and they'll go between you UNTIL they run out. Throw a couple +5 darts from the cloak of the stars while your at it, he'll get quite hurt once his spell wears off.

The darts will never hit the character, because of his shield of reflection. All the ranged attacks will keep bouncing between the shield and the reflection spell until one of them wears off.

You can do the same thing with the original cloak of cheese and spells like flame arrows. Cast the arrows, and if they get minor spell turned, they'll bounce back and forth between the turning and the cloak until the turning runs out, at which point they will start hitting.

With respect to the paladin, I also would equip them with a bow or crossbow. Since you're pretty much locked into using 2H weapons with them, you might as well have a bow for your ranged attacks. Their Turn Undead ability isn't all that great compared to a cleric's, so I rarely have them stand around using TU. I prefer to have them dishing out damage. I'll use ranged attacks until the enemies close, and then switch to melee, while my archers and mages concentrate on enemy spellcasters.

Although Heartseeker's thac0 can becomne +7 with it's special ability it can never hit Kangaxx(even unimproved) because it's the enchancement of the arrows which determine what it can hit not it's thac0, and there is no plus 4+ arrows in SOA.

I regret to break your beautiful delusion but... it is a +7 THACO bonus, not a +7 enchantment. Your arrows will bounce off Absolute Immunity. Have you actually tried using Heartseeker against Demi-Liches before you came to this conclusion? [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Aye, although if we want to be really, really nit-picky. The Short Bow of Gesen shoots phantom +4 arrows.
