Does anyone know if there's a difference between SIM and SIMM RAM or are they acronyms for the same thing?

Willow, the only thing that is a total cure is a Hystorectomy, which they only do in extreme cases. I researched this a while back. I'd try the medication before the surgery.

It does have a lot of features to do any formating option you may (or not) desire, but the level of control of those features is sometimes confuzzing. I miss WP 5.1

Oh, wait! Shouldn't Kat answered this?!?
I'm a WordPerfect user from way back but we also have people in the office who use Word and I'm expected to be able to do things in either processor so I am going for a little "where is the command to do this?" lessons. I can imagine Bill G's program doing perverse things to your upper end documents! LOL I swear most of Micro$oft's applications have minds of their own and they usurp your ability to make your own decisions!

I bet that happened in the old days. And I bet you actually had to use a scalpel as well. At least it was very good news for the patient.

Harley, endometriosis can "spread" to the urinal tract as well. And that is something I wouldn't recommend to be removed. But yes a hysterectomy would cure uteral endometriosis.

Yea it's bad enough when you have multiple personalities vieing for control, but when rouge $haftware starts butting it's bits in .... then we have a problem!

Harley .... SIMM - Single Inline Memory Module. They aren't common anymore I don't know if it is similar to a SIM though without context. Most memory nowadays is RamBus, SDRAM, or DDR SDRAM.
Yeah, I know, this is for a friends VERY outdated computer her brother gave her for free. I keep trying to tell her it's because it's so outdated. Anyway, she can't remember if he said the RAM type is SIM or SIMM. I can't find anything online giving a definition of either or telling me if there's a difference.

Willow, most of my career was in what you would consider "the old days." Yep, I used a scalpel and a Bovie to get quick hemostasis.

Question Mark

Then it's SIMM. Good luck finding a stick if she needs a replacement or upgrade!

take the SIMM (Single In Line Memory Module) to any computer fair and someone is bound to have an odd stick laying around....there are tons of ancient computer parts at the larger shows. (assuming you live near a fair sized city)

check the pin count on her MoBo first. Also check how many slots are in each memory bank. MoBos that used SIMMs had either 1, 2, or 4 slots per bank. Every slot in the bank MUST be filled with the same chip type (capacity, speed, parity). The MoBo should have a group indicator on it to label the banks.
