Now that Kerry has conceded and Dubya won a re-election, what do you think what Bush will actually accomplish in the next four years? Which plans and bans will make it through the legislation process? Will there be more extensions to the Patriot Act? What effect will his re-election have on foreign relationships, or on the economy? And what will the effects of an even stronger Republican senate and House of Representatives be? Please don't just list campaign talking points, as we know most of those - whether Democrat or Republican - are usually opportunistic at best.
I don't care if you're seeing things through a realistic, overly apocalyptic or a GOP-puppet perspective, but I'm mostly curious. And maybe we can look back on this topic 4 years from now, to see which predictions turned out to be correct and which ones were waaaay off. I'll try to come up with something myself at a later stage, though I still stand by the opinion that Bush's foreign policy definitely leaves much to desired. Well, hopefully he'll wait until Afghanistan and Iraq are up and running by themselves before he goes on another military adventure.
Edit: I also wish that he continues with his word magic and deep insights in his speeches. [ 11-03-2004, 04:04 PM: Message edited by: Stratos ]

I have big expectations for Dubya. I think if he tries hard we can see WWIII in the next four years, perhaps even the wholesale holocaust of our planet. There is no mountain to high for that man.

Basicly not a whole lot, I hope the budget is brought under control, I hope to see there is a change to the way Social Security is done a limited privitization(sp?) the Federal Gov't gets about 1-1 1/2% on the money we put into SS. I can do better myself with just a part of the money I put in. The patriot act no major changes there, and NO major scandels from it being in place. 2-4 Supreme Court Justices. Taxes staying low.

Well he doesn't have to face the people in an election ever again - the world is his oyster and I am afraid he just might try to swallow it.
PS - best we can hope is that he chokes on it and there is some means of impeaching Heimlich manoeuvre available

I expect four more years of hilarious SNL sketches and episodes of The Daily Show.

I'm not touching this with a 30 ft pole.
However, i KNOW what will happen the last 16 or 18 months of his second term.... preperations will be made to get his brother Jeb in the White House, and guess what ..... he'll succeed too. That's right fellas, the Bush family is here to stay, all your worst nightmares are coming true, they'll even outlast the Chinese Ming Dynasty. :insert demonic smilie:

well have you ever noticed that when he and his wife are together they put on that exact same smile and the look of their eyes. They look like twins to me.
it will be the same ole stuff from bush is my prediction. he should be predictible on how he will proceed on every issue we will face. and that will be far to the right. i'm not daunted. there will be people in washington dc to challenge him if it's too far. even his own people I predict will reel him in and warn him if he does.

Kerry was the one spending all his time preaching in the temples and running on his religion. Of course you guys on the left never remember those kinds of things. |
