It seems that I have often a mob waxing my poor priest that dont even attack (It's my support unit)!!! Since she gets waxed often by the mobs auto healing with support from my bishop isn't always enough. I build her up like a tank (like all my characters, I'm a bit defensive player) but the AI seems to love her!!!

Sometimes I do have the same feeling too. The enemies seems target my spellcasters and gadgeteer very often.

Heya, there!

Well, IMO, that's really AI: They keep hitting you where it hurts... I know that, as soon as these &*)*&% are in the position, they start working on my bishops, rather than trying to get my ac 23-ninja... That's life, and that's just like it should be... oh, well, that's what I think...

Never forget your towel, cheers

May have something to do with your party's formation and/or if you're getting surrounded in combat. Try to keep the Priest in the rear rank, and have buffer characters in both flank spots and in the middle and/or front as well.

Also use the terrain to your advantage, try to get something like a wall/mountainside etc at the backs of your rear rank guys when you fight, especially against large groups of mosters, to keep them from surrounding your group. If you right click on the automap, it will show your chars imposed on it in their formation and where the monsters are relative to them, always try to keep them away from your casters with a combo of formation and positioning.

Also if you don't already have it, get the Missle Shield spell, will save you from alot of ranged weapon attacks that the enemies can target against any of your chars (early on this really turns the tide vs the Higardi bandit types who throw knives/stilettos etc).

Oh one other idea, you can also have the Priest cast Guardian Angel on herself if she keeps getting targeted, let that spell absorb the damage and practice some Divine Magic at the same time

Hello Gimli,

I know all this technics well and use them. I have always ALL the non-comabt buff up all the time. The problem with the angle it's not really usefull when you priest gets an average of 150 damage. I did put my bishop in the most central position with the priest and bard.

My bard is a real tank (second behind the samurai) so he can get a lot, he has also high reflexion so he don't get hit much, but the priest get waxed often. The problem is at AP, most monsters use spells to attack end tend to love spellcasters. I have all the resistance of all my chars at 100, when the average monster have 120 or more . The most insane magic resistant monster I saw was Al-Dorado (Al-Sedexus portal keeper), 150 to 200 in all the realms!!!
