I haven't played in a long time and my memory is going since I suffer from OGS (old guy syndrome). Is the demon knight (where you get the Frost Giant Girdle) after the drow city? Also, what are you supposed to use as the offering? Since nobody in my party can summon animals, what can I use for the sacrifice?

The Demon Knight is in the Kuo-Toa layer right next to the dwarve (or gnome) mines. In the layer is an altar where you must sacrifice an animal to Demogorgon, do that and five demon knights will appear. The strongest of them will have the girdle of Frost Giant Strength. You can go before or after the Drow City to get it.

This sounds really dumb, but maybe you could use charm animal on something.... charm person and sacrifice a person?

Can you charm one of the Kuo-Toa???

That'd be COOL if that works

I don't suppose there is a scroll that the dwarf vendor can sell you?

There are 2 place's in the Underdark where you can get the Dire Charm Spell and Charm Person spell:

  • Drow Bartender (Ust'Natha)
  • SvirInnkeeper (Svirfneblin Village)
You either need a Animal Spawning Spell or a Monster Summoning Spell if you want to sacrifice to Demogorgon.. You cannot sacrifice one of your own party members. You could however charm a Kuo Toa and sacrifice it.
Not sure about that though, never tested it

And you're bound to have a cleric/ranger/paladin/druid - they have Summon Animal or similar spell.
(Does Paladins have?)

IIRC, it must be a living creature, so a Skeleton Warrior will not trigger the Sacrifice Ritual, simply because he is undead.
