My little marching band of bards had changed to warlock this morning when I found out that they couldn't use a pickaxe to mine ore at the Stout Mines. I don't know if anyone else would change class the way I do, but it may be useful to know that warlocks aren't supposed to get their hands dirty.
I had to restore an old save (the one with the shroud, thanks again, Wyv).

Weelll...either that, Traute, or you could have had your warlocks "get their hands dirty" another way...

by pickpocketing the King, getting his key, and getting the Dragon Armor from his private stash!

I know, but I've never tried to cheat the helpful NPCs in this game. And I don't think my pickpocket skill is up to it at this stage of the game (about lvl 6, I believe). Only succeeded in my last game to pick the pockets of fiends, got mostly money, though.

I ran into this problem too with a solo character that I made Warlock just before going into the Stout Mines. So I ended up doing the Boogre Caves first, and after that I was ready to switch to another class.
