Falling on Floor Laughing Poison weapon

How does it work? I created an assassin and I decided to try the PW skill. I click it, the icon goes away, and nothing seems to happen. I kinda expected sort of a choice box to appear to allow me to poison a weapon. What am I missing? AND, can you poison arrows?

If it matters, my game is BG1 TuTu, so my assassin is only L3.

The poison weapon skill works a bit like the kai abililty for a kensai. Activating it will poison the weapon for the next hit or two. The higher the level of assassin, the greater the poison damage.

Edit: From memory, ranged weapons can also be poisoned.

spells as such can't - you can't poision magic missiles for example

but items created by spells that are then thrown*are poisoned - poisoned energy blades are particularly amusing

* or used in melee i assume (spiritual hammer?) but i've never tried that

Actually, it's the next round or two, regardless of how many times you hit (or miss) in that time. That's one of the reasons that poisoned Energy Blades are so powerful, as they set your ApR to 10.

Traps can't be poisoned either, as they count as spells. You can poison anything that you hold in your hand and make an attack roll with. You can also stack Poison Weapon on top of items that are already poisoned, like Darts of Wounding, Bolts of Biting, and the Dagger of Venom.

How can an assassin create energy blades? Can the assassin kit multi-class?

No, but it can Dual. The only kit that can Multiclass is the Illusionist, and that's only if you're a Gnome.

Got me! I never think of dualing because I never play human, almost always half-elf. I like to have some sort of protection against charming. Once your human PC gets charmed,,game over.
