Being a Solo-blade , plz give me some stat-tips :)

I'm finding it rather hard to distribute my stat, points on the blade.
Since he has a lot of high minimums, this is what i have now :
str. 8 (relying on belts)
dex. 18
cons. 18
int. 13
wis. 13
char. 15
----------+
85

Would this be a good setup for a Blade ???

Keep rolling until you get at least 90 ability points in total. My solo blade had the following stats at the beginning of SoA:


STR: 17
DEX: 18
CON: 16
INT: 17
WIS: 10
CHA: 15

If you use an elf, then they will gain +1 to all attack rolls using longswords.

EDIT: You don't need a higher than 16 CON score, as only fighters/rangers/paladins/barbarians get HP bonuses for higher than 16 CON.

Thx, jim, Altered the stats a little, but this is it:

str. 11 (belt it is)
dex. 18
cons. 16 (thx for that tip)
int. 17 (really only need 13, for 6th spell lvl, but i like brains)
wis. 16 (for extra 2nd lvl spell)
char. 15

Sorry, overlooked the WIS statement you made. Bards cast mage spells, and high WIS scores only grant extra bonus spells to priests, so a bard with a high WIS is not really needed.

Aye, a high wisdom score for a bard is not needed. Take a WIS score of 8, otherwise you will suffer penalties against certain spells (which I cannot remember, sorry [img]smile.gif[/img] ). Take high INT, CON, DEX, and STR, (thought STR should be bottom on your priority list of the four) Oh, and make charisma as low as possible, and pick up Kalah's ring of Human Influence from the circus tent. Well, it's what I always do!

Ideally? Here is the minimum IMHO,

STR: 14+
CON: 16
DEX: 18
INT: 13+( drink Potions of Genius/Mind Focusing to boost your INT when you want to scribe scrolls. Blades can get Xp from scribing level 7-9 spells too by the way, you just cannot cast them.)
WIS: 11( to avoid a penalty to Lore, and to sacrifice one point in Chapter 4)
CHA: 15

That is a grand total of 87+ points.

I think you should take high atribute scores in what you feel your character is good in. My illusionist-fighter has wisdom 18. Is it useful? Probably not. But it fits the character.

When you reach sufficient level, use tenser's transformation to great effect. I would recommend you take the ring of human influence (charisma to 18) , the blade of roses (charisma to 21) and wear a nymph cloak (charisma to 23).

This'll make you that ultimate ladies man you envisage when playing a bard.
