True... but part of the miss involves the rocket or missile that missed... what happens to that?

It can also have a timed detonator. If not, guess they'll have to shoot that rocket down also a couple years later.

I was thinking differently. This will be the proverbial hole in one, threading the needle by the no moon moons light, type of event. It's not like DS when we had a 72% success rate on dropping SCUDS with the Patriot. We are talking launching a sea to air missile clean into orbit and hitting an object that is the size of a baseball bat with a grain of sand.

Not only will all nations eyes be on this event, if it misses, the errant satellite is still headed for the homeland, and possibly a sea to air missile will be leading it!

You folks do realize that the course the bean counters have plotted brings this sucker right back to us? They have yet to release exact specifics, but it must be darn well bothersome enough to attempt a Hail Mary!

My Bro says it's not his mission, but thinks it will go to his sister boat as they are in different water than he, and will have a better angle of track to conduct this 'impossible mission'. As a radar technician he feels............................................. .................................................. ..beep.

Navy missile hits dying spy satellite, says Pentagon
"At approximately 10:26 p.m. EST today, a U.S. Navy AEGIS warship, the USS Lake Erie, fired a single modified tactical Standard Missile-3, hitting the satellite approximately 247 kilometers (133 nautical miles) over the Pacific Ocean as it traveled in space at more than 17,000 mph."
