i heard somewhere of a little trick to enable anyone to cast a scroll...something like drink a potion in inventory then switch it with the scroll and viola!...but you cant put scrolls in fighter slots....so...was i just imagining things or is this possible? basically i want a familiar for my main character[(fighter) if nothing else for the HP]..

you drink a potion which is NOT in your quick slot, just in the inventory. then replace IT with a scroll.

Unless your fighter is dualling into a mage, don't think you will be able to have a familiar (only protagonist can cast "Find Familiar"). But I think there are some cheat codes somewhere to help non-mages create familiars just for fun. You won't get the additional hp, though (so I've heard).
