According to a USAToday/CNN/Gallup poll, GWB's approval rating stands at 68%, and most favor getting tough on Iraq. Look here.

And if the Deomcrats had won, it would have been "a repudiation of the vulgar Republican regime by the genius of the sovereign public?" The grapes were probably sour, anyhow.

Ah, yes, you say the GOP does nothing to help the economy, but what exactly did Clinton do to help it? It could be argued that all he did was ride on the tech boom and the groundwork laid by the conservative tide. Your not really going to able to tell what's happening to the economy for a while yet, and I for one don't have a degree in Macroeconomics, so the accusation that a president hasn't helped the economy is really baseless until several years after the fact.

It isn't a matter of Democrat or Republican. Neither one knows the meaning of the word "ethical" at this point in time.
I would love to see something other than rampant unemployment, however. So, no. Bush does not have approval from me.

My Dads theory:
"Cliton didnt make the econmy good, Reagan did, it just carried over." *shrug* As for good ol' Dubya, I still like him. The econmy isnt horrible, its just not as good as it usally is in America, if he throws us into a another depression, loses the war in Iraq, starts not to care about America, thats when I will change my mind.

What would make Bush stop this madness? I just heard from news that if the war starts, the price of oil will most likely go up 300-400%. This is assuming that Iraq destroys itīs own oil plants, and uses missiles against Iranīs and Saudi-Arabiaīs fields. It will break the world economy.

During the Gulf War, Iraq attempted missle attacks against Saudi oil fields and it didn't work. As they were driven out of Kuwait the Iraqis destroyed most of Kuwaits oil fields. It took experts over a year to stop all the fires and even longer for Kuwait (the number 1 oil exporter) to get oild production going again. This did not lead to economic collapse or a world wide depression.

The drums of war making a GOP president popular enough to get another term in the white house. This sounds familiar. |
