I am in the ruins at whispear hills and can't get by the doors with one Iron golem and 3 clay ones. My characters are around 10-11. How do i get around these guys?

Summon fire elementals and attack them with blunt weapons. When I came there the iron golem stood in the way of the others so I could finish it off before the clay golems got at it. You could also cast domination on the iron golem and watch it beat its brothers to death!

If you have access to Cloudkill you could try that, it works against pretty much anything in the game.

Not golems. They're completely immune to all magic. You can only kill iron golems with a +3 or better weapon (I think any type of weapon works).

I kept the Warhammer +2, +4 against Giant Kin, it works nicely on Golems too.

The boring way is to give anyone with a ranged melee weapon (i.e. 2-handed sword, staff, halberd) of +3 or better and get the golem trapped in a doorway. You can pretty much beat them senseless and only have to worry about the poison cloud they breath. They don't have the reach to whack you back.

Oh yeh, they are'nt all clay golems. 2 are stone and should be polished off with range weapons before offing the Iron golem. The last clay golem is easy with blunt weapons.

Hey Armisael, cloudkill does work against golems, even the adamantite ones. It takes a little while and you need at least 2 spells but it does work.

Really? They just resist it when I use it. Take a look at their stats in Infinity Explorer. 100% magic resistance, all of them.

Bizarre man, every large golem I killed using cloudkill as my char is a swashbuckler/mage dual class doing the cheezy thing. I sneak up, cast cloudkill, hide again, and move just out of sight of them. It takes a couple of spells but you see them taking damage.
Maybe its got something to do with the standard of difficulty. I'm playing standard just below core at the moment. |
