Not sure if this has anything to do with the earthquake and tsunami, but in another part of Japan a volcano suddenly became active and is apparently about to burst, seems they have to empty the whole cup overthere.

Now...I am sorry to write this - but caught this on the news on Denmark.

Several newspapers are writing the story tomorrow that many americans ( I guess everything is relative - cause I dont think there is many ) are joining Facebook groups that express laughter and even ridicule at the japanese people calling it payback for Pearl Harbor. I must admit that I was saddened - can it really be true that the youth in america is so low and unfair - or are the media in Europe just jumping at a few idiots that always will be there???

In regards to the volcano: Its been spitting ash about 4km ( 2½ miles ) into the sky - but it was to be expected when such a huge quake hits - by god golly the whole coast of Japan is sitting on a shelf not unlike California.

Turkey is reknown to be the worst place for earthquakes as it is sitting on the gathering point of 3 plates and not just 2 as most other places.

This was terrible news when I heard about it and still is. My GF spends quite a bit of time in Japan working and she's actually in Tokyo right now. Thankfully she was ok but it took quite a few hours before I managed to grab hold of her (on Facebook of all places since I could not get through either her landline or cellphone).

This event goes to show that it really doesn't matter how technologically advanced your society is, when Mother Nature gets mad there's not much you can do.
