Earth History
Useless information? Nah…Fun information! Well what with all the nationalist pride quizzes going on I thought I would see who can get some questions that range across the whole spectrum! The American quiz I got most of the answers…missed the stripes on the flag one. The Aussie and Scots one…I’m ashamed. I’m from Canada…we get Yankee TV. up here. Yeah yeah part of the Commonwealth, why the hell couldn’t I get Australia and Scotland! Ok these questions will be aimed at everyone and based more on events that have affected the outcome of world history. These are off the top of me head so I could be a little off. 1.) Early times…What civilization invents the wheel? 2.) 776 bc…important meet in Greece: 3.) Who founded Rome? 4.) 651 - Important book publication: 5.) 1024 ad - Chinese invent: 6.) 1150 - Important temple built in Cambodia. 7.) What did the divine wind do in 1274 ad and again in 1281 ad? 8.) June 15th 1215, Important document signed: 9.) 1783, Nov 21, In Paris Jean Francois Pilatre de Rozier and Marquis D'Arlands do what? 10.) 1848, Feb 26…What important document is published? 11.) 1928 Sept 15, what does Alexander Fleming see? 12.) 1952 _____________ascends the throne. 13.) 1961, April 11? 13 questions! Will post 13 answers later. [This message has been edited by Djinn Raffo (edited 07-06-2001).] |

Just off the top of my head:
1. Babylonians (no idea really) 2. The First Olympiad (Olympic Games) 3. Romulus & Remus (allegedly!) 4. The Koran 5. Gunpowder 8. Magna Carta Getting a bit modern for me after these, I can't remember the name of the Cambodian temple, but it's beautiful, I'd love to go there! (Edit: NUTS! Cavern Sniffer just beat me to it on some of these answers. It is Angkor temple, I'm pretty sure of that now you have reminded me CS!) ------------------ Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.
