Besides, you must bag a craploud of equipment just to get that missile ac, Makes you miss out on other cool equipment and kinda susceptible to other kinds of attacks don't it? I can can think of better ways to equip a character.

I am role-playing here, not power-gaming.  First time though, do you really think I would use only leather armour if I was not role-playing? Try it sometime, it can be challenging.Hell, my main fighter, John Little, is a Grandmaster in Quarterstaffs,  dishes out about 20-25 damage though.
