I was referring to the way the current conversation seemed to be heading...

*snip*

You perform the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and then shouting “la la la I can’t hear you”.

Anyway Occams razor says that the most likely conclusion is that we don’t have any soul, also given our current state of knowledge as related to the real world, it is the most logical and rational conclusion that we do not have one as well.
Simply saying I know I have a soul and you cannot prove me wrong since you might not exist is illogical, irrational and an emotive reaction rather than an actual scientific one, period.

In fact how about I fix up your post, just as you have done to me (now & in the past)?

[/QUOTE]Mate you are possibly the stupidest intellectual I've encountered. If you can't see the difference between changing an inclusively plural post to a singular post, and changing a posts intent, then I don't know how you manager to comprehend the books you've supposedly read.

You are obviously bright, yet you persist in ignoring the things people keep shouting at you.

YOU CANNOT SPEAK FOR ANOTHER HUMAN.

I changed the WE in your post to I, removing a pertpetually offensive part of your posting style to prove a point. You changed my intent. My point of view. Something I am entitled to do on this forum.

Do you not see this? Can you not understand that it's hurtful to Amber, myself and others who think like us, that you continually insult, belittle, trollingly proclaim absolute truths, and ignore what people say to you, by posting the exact same thing? By presuming to know what our motives are? WHY WE BELIEVE WHAT WE DO.

Big difference.

You will never understand us Dramnek. Your posting only ever serves to show how little you understand people of faith. Any faith, be they G'kar and Absynthe, Amber or Ladyzekke, Cerek, Nachtrafe or myself.

I don't know how you can presume anything to the contrary.

This is what I'm talking about. A conclusion is drawn from analysis of available data. If my data differs from yours, then we will reach differing conclusions.

It is illogical to suggest, that one who has reached a differing conclusion is illogical or making an emotive judgement, simply because it does not agree with yours. That is insultingly offensive, and makes dialogue - comparison of data - impossible.

A closed mind.

An open mind is one that accepts there are things which they may not yet know. That respects another's conclusion despite disagreeing with it.

I don't agree with G'kar or Absynthe or Silver Cheetah's conclusions about the way the world is. However, I can see their logic.

I don't agree with Moiraines conclusions (an athiest) but I can see her logic.

I don't agree with your conclusions, BUT I CAN SEE YOUR LOGIC. The point of discussion, would normally be to present ones point of view. Exchange perception, so you can experience the data without living it.

Collective knowledge.

Can you not see this simple truth Dramnek? My experiences are vastly different from yours. The way I'm reaching a conclusion is not so dissimilar. Logic has nothing to do with it, only information.

I know I have a soul. My soul, and my God, are more real to me than you are. Pure and simple.

I'll just put in one more post before this thread gets closed...

Earlier I asked the question how we can define 'soul'. Well, I suppose one possible definition would be: that part of us which is immortal.

Given such a definition, do I believe we have souls?

Well, what I believe is that:

1. We do not have souls. We are souls.

2. There may be billions of us, but actually there's only one soul.

Just some of my convictions in a nutshell.

their is no meaning to life just live it enjoy this mistake, get drunk party ,and have a ball, what else matters.think about it,people put limits on enjoying life so they can measure just how much fun they are having.otherwise it would be like trying to measure something without a known value
