SoU - In Undertide

I didn't really want it to com to this but I am so tired of trying and dieing that i have nearly stopped playing SoU. I am talking about the 10(?) shield guardians in the Asabi camp. I can barely seem to make a dent in one let alone actually destroy them. Now am i confusing everybody because I could find no posts about this at all. So basically what am I missing that I should have or need to have? hints preferred but wiull take spoilers.

In North East room of North Fragment there's a ring that can severely weaken the golem.

The hard part is getting him to put it on!!
So kill him first then put it on him ??

err...use the power of the ring on the golem first and then attack the golem normally.

My trick first time through was to lead the golem back to wossisname, that slaver guy. He is immortal, so the Golem will switch targets to him while you very very slowly pummel him to bits.

(And then, after laboriously doing this, I found that ring mentioned above. Sometimes, the game hates me)

Umm, he said SHIELD GUARDIANS people! (not the golem)

and yes, the shield guardians can be extraordinarily tough. Use weapons with elemental damage or for spells use element shield and get hit. I prefer acid damage myself and if I'm not mistaken you can purchase both acid arrows and an acid rapier from your "master".

I did it the hard way. I had the two shield guardians left (the ones two the north) before I even found the ring. After finding the ring the butler became hostile so I used it on him and he was easy so were the two remaining guardians which I doubt I could have beaten has one was hard enough.

The shield gaurdians are also golems.

I found the ring, and have taken out the four in the North. I used a ring in invisibility to get by the first two Guardians (golems) in the north. It was kind of fun to watch the spiders fight the guardians. I talked to the butler even after getting the ring and he was thankful for someone to talk to. Also getting anythng off of a merchant is quite hard as I only have around 2000 in gold. i do have some noce weapons though.

Thanks for all the help. Hopefully I won't need more.
