Hehehe!!!

I got my first PC in '91 (well I joint bought it with my partner). It was the same spec as the one above and cost £1400 sterling (with monitor & mouse!!). Bf still uses it for doing his college work, because it is still an adequate word processor, although the monitor has just crapped out. The thing about PCs is, although they become outdated quickly, the PC you bought will always be able to do the job it did when you first bought it. So I think I got quite good value for money for 10 years use.

My current system is a PII 350, 64Mb RAM, 10Gb Hard drive, 56kbps modem, 17" monitor, Voodoo II, Aureal 3D Sound, speakers; I got it 2 years ago, and it cost me.... £1000 sterling (a really really good deal at the time). I'm just about to upgrade it as I need a better processor & graphics card now. Ack - that means I have to take the back off....

Supposedly the two afforementionedcompanies got so tired of being thought of as one entity "Wintel", they both issued a statement saying both cfompanies were entirely independent blah blah etc. But when people start denying something...

Just waiting for my new system to be delivered this week, AMD 1GHz. The price of a Top line AMD 1.4GHz is still cheaper than the baseline P4!!

Yeah, I'm going for AMD when I upgrade - a 1.1Gb Athlon AND socket A motherboard are cheaper than a PIII 850! And I need a new motherboard anyway, so may as well go with AMD.

Sir Tainly, I just replied to your post about HOW in the IWD forum.

I wonder how many more acronyms I can fit into this post?.

Cheers Epona, will check the IWD forum now.

I think the best price Motherboard for AMD Thunderbirds, at the moment is the Abit KT-7A - at least thats what I've gone for.
