Druids

I want to play as a druid but I wanted to know which was the best to use.

Try totemic druid. I dont like the shapeshifts. Besides, the spirit animals are better than shapeshiftings.

I haven't played any of the Druid kits yet, but IMHO Shapeshifters ARE the best. They can only shapeshift into one creature, but it is the best one! In the beginning they become a Werewolf, and in the end they can become a Greater Werewolf. Imagine the carnage! Besides (if I am wrong, please correct me), I don't think Totemic Druids can shapeshift at all. You might as well play a Beast Master, at least then you get ranged attacks.

Most shapesshifts are getting useless later in the game.
Avengers and Totemic are my favorite, both can wear shadow or red dragon armor so AC is not a real problem, Avengers have a very good spellbook, shapeshift sword spider only good to some point but Avengers are very good spellcaster.
Totemic is the best druid kit because you can dual to fighter, 17 STR and 15 CON hard to roll, most people think spirit animals suck but they're very useful, I killed the red dragon without anyone in my party get hurts, clean up
the beholder city without buying that shield, killed vampires and mind flyers without even using cheesy hit and run. Totemic IMO is the best summoner in the game.

I just beat the game with a totemic-13/fighter-sum'thing.
They rule.

Shapeshift sucks. I never used with Jaheira. Why change into a punny Bear if u have that big sword + 5???

Even the greater werewolf isn't worthy.

Like I said, I haven't played any of the Druid kits yet. Maybe I'll try the Totemic Druid, if I can fit it into my list of 'Play these characters ASAP' somewhere..
