I'm playing an evil party now (I finished with a good one). There are a few things I noticed...1) The dialogue is a lot more interesting and fun, it seems like the character interactions are a lot better (I like the interplay between Edwin and everybody else, although Viconia seems only to talk to me, except to spit at Jaheira), 2) I like not having to worry so much about the consequences of my actions, 3) the characters, especially Edwin and Korgan are so strong that they blow away any of the goody two-shoes wandering the land, and 4) the game is much easier now that I know what is coming (I've got over that somewhat by increasing the difficulty level--I'm still not having too much of a problem on Hard).

My question is this: Is Edwin supposed to have so many spells? Even considering that he is a specialist mage, he has 2 more spells per level than he is supposed to. The only weird thing he is carrying is his amulet...is that why? It should say in the description of the item if it is, but it doesn't.

Basically, his amulet is what gives him the extra spells. It should have had a description to make it sound as cool as it is but alas, there is none.

Agreed Edwin Rocks!

He is absolutely the best mage in the game. His amulet gives him the extra spell levels, but his intelligence helps a little too

I'm playing with a good aligned party and I have a 20 reputation,so Edwin didn't stay too long in my group .But he rocked when he was in the group.

Edwin was single-handedly responsible for taking down half the dragons when I had him. My berserker sat back with Korgan and drank beer while he got to work
And his sub-quest is so damn funny!
Evil or not, he is a must for any party
