No, you do not have to go back and talk to the statue for Rumphy to spawn back when your game is patched. The respawn is the same. All you have to do is exit the area (I like to go back to the mana fountain to recharge before I zap him over and over again) and then go back to the Spirit of Rumphy chamber.

Ralek and Andora20: Did you make sure you walked all the way to the candle circle? Sometimes the respawn takes place only when you enter that area.

No problems with spawning using patch, although I was obviously wasing some effort by back tracking all the way to the first room (with the door switch). Quite often when I dashed back in, there was no sign of or whackable friend until I approached closely to his circle.

Davros: That has NEVER worked for me. I've always had to go back to Kerah after killing Rumphy to get him to respawn. I have tried going back to the circle from several locations within the crypt, and the only one that works for me is when you cross the once-gated passage and loop in front of the Kerah statue.

I've never had to recharge Mana, either, since walking back to the statue and then back to Rumphy usually auto-replenishes any mana my spellcaster has used.

I said I was backtracking toooo far Saz, I was going all the way to the crypt entrance room (ie first room with the door switch). Obviuously each time I went all the way back there, I passed by the Kerah room .
