I've just gone through the troll arena of Dragon's Eye, and it occurs to me that I've only ever seen the one fireball scroll. Orrick has never given me the opportunity to buy one but I've yet to get to HoW or TotL (I restarted with a different party).

Is it possible to pick up this most valuable spell somewhere else?

SCRL1G

I know it is not what you asked for,
but in IWD that is the code for it

Thanks Larry.

It isn't so much of a problem now, it's just that I gave it to the wrong mage the last time and when I really needed it, they couldn't cast it.

BTW What's the SP on the item codes? Is it something to do with the (still mysterious to me) Dalekeeper? Or can you hunt out items in IWD utilising such codes?

What can I say. I'm the new guy!

You have built in cheats on your game without using an external system.
Depending on whether you have IWD or the exapansions will determine which codeword gets you into the console.
Research this link for more detail, or you can scan through our old entries on this forum to find more info.

Once again Larry proves his lustre (note the spelling!)

It's just curiosity really, as it's got to be, alongsied magic missile, one of the most widely used combat-spells in the game, whether paper or electronic. It's just funny that you never see another copy. Take Lightning Bolt. You want this spell again - no problem. But how difficult is that beast to use properly!

BTW Speaking of spells, whats the SP on the Razorvine Extract? I seem to remember a post about giving it to a magician in Dorn's Deep (I think); also, this is the chap that sells the Conjure Elemental scrolls. Oh, and something about him being in a tower. Don't know whether you can clarify that one for me. It's got to be something that I've missed all this time.

Thanks Larry.

I don't know though.

"Cheats?"

I mean, that's a bit like cheating isn't it?

You can always find a reason to work a cheat in.
Gift from the Gods...
The game should have one more of...
etc...

By the way...does this map help???

Quote:
When you enter the Ettin cave, remember to pick up the Razorvine Extract up off the dead body. For Bandoth. Be careful though with the Ettins, there are a few (I think 4), and as a group, can inflict some hefty damage..

Go to Bandoth and give him the Razorvine Extract, and in return he will give you the much needed location to a secret entrance to Lower Dorn.

Thank you sir - you're a genius.

The map helps indeed. It's a wonder that I haven't see that entrance before. The thing is though, every time you look at a large area of black on the map you do wonder 'is there something there?'. It took me a while to notice the secret room in Dragon's Eye and it's associate torturers. Not the brightest spark, eh?

Trying to recollect that section of Dorn's, do you access the tower's entrance from the north, or from the south? Of course, your reply would appear to favour the later: and having to deal with the four ettins that reside there.

I was only able to access the tower with the mage in it from the north. There is a ledge that follows the northern section of the map. As far as I can remember, that is the only way to get to the tower.

By the way, I remember being able to buy another fireball scroll in HoW.

Definitely something to look out for. Thanks Alaric.

Seems a bit odd though, that you have to wait so long for a "bread-and-butter" spell like Fireball to darken your mage's spellbooks again.

The entrance to the North, is that the one past the orc's cave? Although looking at the map again, it would suggest that the ledge begins somewhere near the actual entrance to the cave complex itself.
