Hello All,
I'm not sure if I'm ever going to really understand this event, Logic Block, but I was hoping someone could help me to achieve something. Basically I want to run a check on the amount of money currently stored in the vault (ie all vaults in the game). If it is greater than a certain amount, I want a particular event to occur. I figure this can be done by checking some value (the amount in the vault), then if it is "numeric greater" than some other value (the amount required to trigger the event), setting a quest stage "if true", then running a chained event that happens when "quest present". But I have no idea how to do this. Can someone please take me through, step by step? Perhaps if there is a good explanation it would be helpful to include this in future help files. I realise there is heaps to do but more help on using logic block would be much appreciated. |

i don't have any clue either, but would love it if someone who did could respond. eventually, i would like to collect all such nuggets of wisdom into some sort of faq.

Yeah. A FAQ would be good. Better still, a manual (like FRUA had). The original FRUA manual could be a starting point if there aren't copyright problems involved. Most of the stuff in there we take for granted but newcomers would probably find it helpful.
If it would help I have a .txt (or similar) copy of the orignal FRUA manual that I could send you. |

that sounds like a good idea as well. actually, i think it would be great to just combine the two.
i would love to have a digital copy of the frua manual. if you could email me a copy, that would be great. manikus5@yahoo.com -manikus |

Did you get a copy of the manual? I can send the text file if you still need it.
I'm at work right now and can't work out the details on making the LogicBlock query the vault. I think it is possible though because I'm pretty sure we added some functions for checking these things. I'll try to work it out after work and post something about it.

I took a look at the current support for querying available money using GPDL and LogicBlock. I could find only one method, and it queries the party funds not the vault.
It should be simple matter to add another method for the vault, and it will be in the next release.

I believe that a manual or FAQ is necessary for the logic block event. I mean, I read all the examples of the logic block event BUT I have no clue how to use it.

Every time I try to use it I need to go look at the source code to figure out how the gates and values are combined. In other words, I can't figure it out either just by looking at the editor window.
I didn't create the LogicBlock event, it came from Paul Stevens. I put some comments in the code to help me, and I suppose I can at least put that much into the help file. I noticed that some help file links are broken too, so I can fix that stuff also.

I added some more help for LogicBlock in the current release. It's the same diagram I use whenever I need to figure out how the inputs and gates are combined.
