I remember seeing Queen in concert and Bohemian Rhapsody was the only song they didn't play live as they couldn't do it justice. So they walked off stage and let it play in the dark. When I first heard it on release, my mouth dropped and I stood riveted to the spot. Absolutely magic! Freddy Mercury was one of the most charismatic singers ever and his stage prescence dominated you. I love early Queen, but I think they lost it slightly after Jazz. By the way, the video for the song was the first one ever and I believe that Sheer Heart Attack was the first punk/thrash song too.

Ertai, if you like songs which are made up of different tunes, try 10cc's Une Nuit a Paris (One night in Paris). Hilarious lyrics and very strange tune, but I love it.

Melusine, please could you put your sisters version on the CD you are sending, if you have it? I would love to hear it!

It's a wonderful initiative and sounds absolutely GOBSMACKING!!!!!!! You'd be amazed to hear the weird stuff you can do with a cello!
I just bought their 2nd album which also has a few of their own compositions but the 1st album is exclusively Metallica covers. I'm not making any ethical remarks about Napster here, nor am I admitting that I use it (I don't, actually) but I do know that you can download their songs there. Vic, if you don't know them , maybe I can put a song on the cd I'm sending you anyway!

Yes I have listened to the, in fact I have one of their CD's. Very good actually, I like their version of the unforgiven and Fade to black. I would love to get a hand on their transcripts though and revise for a quartet or something like that!

Stealth: I haven't got it (the Queen song) but I think they'll be recording it in the future and I will certainly send it to you then.....my photos are on their way BTW
Wolfie, I can understand some (spoken) Scandinavian languages too, they're really quite similar don't you think.... I'll have to tell Rikard to be cautious though, tell him that there's a curious little Wolfie spying on our intimate tete-a-tetes...
Vic: Glad you like Apocalyptica too, do you know any of their own compositions? I'm probably going to their concert in Holland this month...it must be so cool to see these four men with their cellos on stage!!

Oh and the guy who asked about Krezip (sorry I forgot to check your name!): they're a Dutch rock band with a female singer, quite good band if you like that sort of thing. Dunno if you can download them anywhere
