no not good food unfortunatly
anyone know what causes a toe to feel halfway numb? its almost the feeling you might get if say your foot fell asleep, except there isnt that painful prickly feeling that acompanies that sensation, just the numbness.

Doc i went to said buy a new pair of shoes, what a waste of 80 bucks! the shoes fit fine, dont even feel a squeeze at all even when they were new.

Maybe a toe-nail has put pressure on a nerve blocking sensation? I know my bro sliced his thumb with an exacto knife once. It healed over very nicely, but he doesn't feel anything in one half of that thumb now.

A damaged or inflamed nerve will cause this. Jobs where you do a lot of standing or walking can cause this, as well as ill-fitting shoes. Ballet and other toe tip dancing can cause a lot of foot problems.

so how would i cure this? and yes it doesnt go away
i do stand around all day long generally so i guess that might be the cause then
why is it only my big toe tho and not any of the other toes?

my brother has this condition as well - hes the one who actually went to the doctor; i was hoping it would just go away but its been a couple weeks for me and a couple months for him

I just got the "Intensity" walking sneaker from Easy Spirit for about $75 a month ago and it took about 3 days for the shoes to break in and now all my feet problems are gone. Maybe it's the shoes, just because they're expensive doesn't mean they're better. Otherwise, check your nails and see a doc.

Also, do you suffer from any back problems? Pinched or inflamed nerves in your back can lead to weird sensations anywhere in your body. I know someone who has a numb spot on his heel because of a pinched nerve in his lumbar region.

I would check the obvious explanations first (those already mentioned), but if nothing fits, check your back out.

That exact thing happened to me a couple weeks ago... I was doing some plumbing work that had me contorted trying to reach a pipe for an extended period of time. Next morning I've got no feeling in a toe (I'm guessing it's a pinched nerve), it's slowly gotten better over time but even a couple weeks later that toe feels a little wiggie.

what food problems did you have before you got that shoe?
and i do have back problems, but not a pinched nerve; i think its a sort of arthritis; ive had those back problems for around 6 years or so, i dont think its related to my toe or why would it be happening now and not previosly?

anyhow, does anyone know a solution medically for the problem? the only thing i can think, of is if it is caused by my standing, is to just stay off my feet till it stops. Which since im going to go on vacation soon shouldnt be too much of a problem. id much rather a medicine assisted healing since that generaly works better.

i bet its some sort of wierd fungus or bacteria or virus or something; i mean i used to stand around all day long why should it suddenly make my feet hurt? ive had this pair of shoes for almost 2 years now and theyre as comfortable as can be possible.

Dug this out of the archives. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...;f=10;t=014757
You may want to read it, it may have some bearing on what your asking, hopefully not. Hope its just a toenail or something. If it gets worse, or travels, get an MRI right away. Good luck.
